WildFutures is a project of Earth Island Institute working to bridge the gap between science and conservation and finding collaborative ways to develop and implement effective conservation strategies. Executive Director and Founder, Sharon Negri has over 25 years of experience in wildlife conservation and non-profits, and works to provide essential tools, guidance, and information to help organizations reach their conservation goals and help them build responsible organizations.

Past Projects
- Provided Message Development Trainings to over 100 organizations and conservation, wildlife, and animal advocates by connecting diverse media specialists with local groups to help them more effectively reach the public on the importance of protecting wildlife and wild lands.
- Provided Campaign Strategic Planning to national and international wildlife and habitat organizations.
- Produced Cougar Management Guidelines the first publication directed at improving how cougars are managed in the U.S, Canada, and Mexico.
- Produced On Natures Terms, a dramatic and uplifting film illustrating how ordinary citizens are finding ways to co-exist in harmony with wolves, cougars, and bears while protecting their habitat.
- Supported the establishment of the Wild Felid Research and Management Association, an organization for researchers, wildlife managers, educators, and others interested in the conservation of wild felids.
- Conducted focus groups for Insight Wildlife Management seeking public opinions on cougars. messages, and outreach materials in Washington.
- Conducted a Stakeholders Analysis for the Snow Leopard Trust and YES! Magazine accessing their programs and identifying future needs and directions.
- Published and sold 1,400 copies of Greening the Grassroots, a manual describing how wildlife organizations can write winning grant proposals.
- Developed an outreach tool entitled Wildlife Tracks for the Humane Society of the U.S. and utilized by 3,000 wildlife, habitat, animal, and scientists.
- Brought together 11 of the nation's leading conservation biologists and carnivore activists and developed 9 innovate strategies to protect our nation’s native wild predators and their habitats in the new millennium.
